BIOGRAPHY


    1971

      He returnes to Mozambique. 
      He starts working as an apprentice and 
      later as a freight forwarding assistant. 
      He attends night-school. 

    1973

      He starts working as a bank employee and 
      meets colleagues who are interested in his 
      work, and concentrates on photography. 
      He meets the painter João Aires who takes 
      an interest in his work. 

    1974

      He produces his first commissions for murals 
      for private houses. 
      He holds his first large exhibition in the Casa 
      Amarela supported by Lourenço Marques 
      Town Council. 
      He holds an exhibition in Beira Cultural Centre with the 
      do Jornal "Notícias da Beira" e Direcção Geral 
      assistance of the newspaper "Notícias da Beira" and the Tourist 
      Board. He meets the artist and friend José Padua here. 
      He exhibits work in the Casa Africana in Lourenço Marques 
      and in the Exhibition-Auction for Political Prisoners. 
      He makes his first sculptures out of bronze 
      and aluminium.
