HARMONY OF THE SPHERES

Looking at Luís Soares' painting is departing on a trip, the course of which, labyrinthine in name only, the painter previously traces with determination on the smooth surface of the paper or of the canvas, which becomes a "portolano" for an ancient sailor.

And we go through mysterious landscapes, where the reality is perceived beyond the mask, where the happening is unfolded through the gestures picked up in lost rites, the resul-ting web is the life, the astonished eyes of the personages from time of mind are still ours.

The before and the after are bound within this precarious horizon made of furrows and colours that, however, tranquillise us. The whole is seen as a Harmony of the Spheres, it is music, it is the dream, or merely the fascination of looking at a painting of Luís Soares on white wall.
